What This Course Is
The Harmony Healing Center (HHC) Parent & Caregiver Psychoeducation Curriculum is a structured, evidence-calibrated online course for parents/caregivers whose child has engaged in problematic sexual behavior.
The Module Rule (across all 6 modules):
Do not turn an association into a cause, and do not turn a behavior into an identity.
What This Course Is Not
- Not a validated assessment, actuarial, diagnostic, or risk instrument
- Not a forensic investigation or legal determination
- Not a prediction of what any individual youth will do
- Not a substitute for individualized PSB or trauma treatment
Fidelity: Person-first language, no child imagery, group % never = individual probability, caregiver involvement ≠blame, court/agency orders supersede course, free-text = private clinical material.
3. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Module 1 – Understanding PSB: Continuum (normative/cautionary/problematic), 8 Developmental Decision Variables, person-first language, Facts/Questions/Assumptions, Whole-Youth Context Map (6 domains), 10 myths vs evidence.
Module 2 – Safety Through Structure: Foundational principle safety is created through structure — not fear, 6 safeguards, 8 questions a safety plan answers, Family Safety and Supervision Plan, Home + Digital Safety Review.
Module 3 – Behavior Management: Principle effective parenting is not harsher parenting, BEFORE/DURING/AFTER sequence, St. Amand meta-analysis component.
Module 4 – Sexual Health & Digital: 10 principles, body terminology, two-sided boundaries, consent = never pressure/threats/manipulation, state law taught separately, explicit checkable digital rules, Askable Caregiver, supportive disclosure (no forensic interviewing).
Module 5 – Trauma Literacy: Exposure vs symptoms vs PTSD vs trauma-related PSB, when trauma assessment warranted, impact without symptom disclosure.
Module 6 – Ecological Model: 6 domains sorting, protective factors, safe development not permanent restriction.
