Day 6 Affirmations: Attitudes of Agency
Be the Best You
To be the Best You is the Greatest Gift You Can Give Yourself and Offer to the World Around You.It’s true! But how do you get there? By understanding your desires, making informed decisions, trusting yourself, and being accountable for those choices.
Never Hesitate to Do
Act decisively, even if it means making mistakes. Research thoroughly, but don’t let that research stop you from taking action. Learn from your failures and keep moving forward!
Be Willing to be Wrong
Accept evidence that contradicts your beliefs, even if it makes you uncomfortable. Explore integration and growth opportunities. When someone points out a flaw in your logic or an error in your thinking, don’t get defensive–take it as an opportunity to refine your understanding of the world and grow as a person. Learning is an ongoing process, but it only works when you are open to evolution.
Authenticity
Know yourself. You are the only one who can truly know what’s best for you, so it’s important to understand your own values and motivations.
Trust your decisions. Once you’ve made up your mind about something, trust that decision as much as possible–even if it means going against the advice of others or taking a risk with something new (like starting a business).
Be accountable for your actions. If something goes wrong because of following through on an idea or plan, don’t blame others; instead, accept responsibility and move forward from there!
Action
Implement your convictions. This is the most important step, and it’s also the easiest to skip. Your convictions are what you believe in, what you stand for, and what drives your actions. “I believe that everyone should be happy” and “I believe that everyone deserves respect” are nice sentiments, but they don’t make our lives better unless we act on them by doing something specific with our time, energy, and resources.
For example: If you are truly committed to something you truly care about, your first step would be figuring out what resources to gather toward supporting such an effort.
Accountability
Being accountable is another incredible gift you can give yourself. It’s a sign of maturity, strength, and competence as an individual. When we’re young, we often look for ways to escape responsibility–we want someone else to take care of us or make things easier for us. But when we become adults, we realize that this isn’t how life works. No one healthy is going to come along and fix everything for us.
Health suggests that each of us focus our energy and vibrations on improving our lives and our environments. We have complete control over our reality and effort!
By taking responsibility for our actions and decisions–and by owning them fully–we are empowering ourselves with control over our destiny in ways never before possible through technology or societal norms alone.
Accountability for You without prompting creates an environment where others feel safe to share their own struggles and mistakes. They know they won’t be judged harshly; instead they’ll receive support to pick up the pieces, make amends, and move forward empowered.
